Information we collect
- Information you give us.Your email address when you subscribe, and your answers to our trip-planning quiz (such as who you’re travelling with and the regions or experiences you’re interested in) — which we use to personalise what we send you.
- Information collected automatically. Basic, privacy-friendly usage and device data (pages visited, approximate region, browser type) and standard server logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies.See “Cookies & tracking” below.
We don’t knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we don’t collect payment details on this site — any future purchases are handled by a third-party payment processor.
How we use your information
- To send the newsletter and trip-planning emails you sign up for, personalised to your interests.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the site and its content.
- To understand which content is useful (aggregate analytics).
- To comply with legal obligations and protect against abuse or fraud.
We do not sell your personal information.
Email & marketing
We use single opt-in: when you submit your email, you’re added to our list and begin receiving our emails. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We use Resend to deliver email.
Cookies & tracking
We use a small number of cookies and scripts:
- Privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights) to measure traffic and performance.
- Affiliate and accommodation partners (e.g., Stay22, GetYourGuide, Booking.com) may set cookies when you click their links or use embedded maps, so they can attribute a referral — see “Affiliate disclosure.”
You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some may affect features such as embedded maps.
Affiliate disclosure
Alps by Design participates in affiliate programs. When you click certain links or book through embedded tools (for example, hotels via Stay22 or Booking.com, or tours and rail via GetYourGuide), we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. These partners process your interaction under their own privacy policies.
Service providers we use
We share limited data with trusted providers strictly to run the service:
- Resend — email delivery
- Supabase — subscriber database
- Vercel — hosting and analytics
- Stay22 and affiliate networks — accommodation and activity referrals
These providers process data on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
Data retention
We keep your subscriber information for as long as you remain subscribed and as needed for our legitimate business purposes or legal obligations. If you unsubscribe, we retain a minimal suppression record so we can honour your choice and stop emailing you.
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA under the GDPR, the UK under the UK GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@alpsbydesign.com— or simply use the unsubscribe link to stop emails. We’ll respond within the time required by applicable law, and you won’t be treated differently for exercising your rights.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.
International users
We operate from the United States. If you access the site from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Children’s privacy
The site is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version here with a revised effective date; significant changes may also be announced by email.
