Your bases

Day by day

  1. Day1

    Arrive at Lake Bled

    Lake Bled

Land near Ljubljana and transfer to Bled. A pletna boat to the island, the wishing bell, and the clifftop castle at golden hour.

  2. Day2

    Gorge & viewpoints

    Lake Bled

The Vintgar Gorge boardwalk in the morning, the Mala Osojnica viewpoint hike for the postcard shot, and a slice of Bled cream cake to finish.

  3. Day3

    Into the national park

    Lake Bohinj

A short hop to wilder Lake Bohinj. The Vogel cable car for a Triglav panorama, then a swim in Slovenia's biggest natural lake.

  4. Day4

    Bohinj on foot

    Lake Bohinj

The Savica waterfall and a Triglav-area hike — the Seven Lakes valley if you're game — deep in the park's quiet.

  5. Day5

    Over the Vršič Pass

    Bovec

Drive the hairpins of the Vršič Pass, Slovenia's highest road, down into the Soča Valley and its unreal emerald river.

  6. Day6

    The emerald Soča

    Bovec

Raft or kayak the Soča, chase the Boka waterfall, and drive the Mangart saddle road for a high-mountain finale.

  7. Day7

    Out via the valley

    Bovec

A last river morning, then the drive back to Ljubljana — or onward to Italy and the coast.
