Where to Stay

Where to stay in Castelrotto

Castelrotto (Kastelruth) is a small, walkable village around its landmark bell tower, and lodging spreads from the frescoed old centre out to farm-stays (Urlaub auf dem Bauernhof) on the surrounding meadows and the neighbouring villages of Siusi (Seis) and Fiè (Völs), both at the foot of the Alpe di Siusi cable car. The decision is village charm versus a meadow farm-stay with the Sciliar at the window.

Booking tips for Castelrotto

  • A car helps for the region, but the Alpe di Siusi road is closed to day traffic in summer, so plan to use the cable car from Siusi.
  • Ask for a Sciliar-facing room or balcony; the massif is the view, and half-board is common and worth taking.
  • Castelrotto hosts a big traditional folk festival in autumn and books out then, so check dates.
