Where to Stay

Where to stay in Lech

Lech's lodging spreads along the valley floor and up to Oberlech, the small, largely car-free hamlet above the village reached by gondola, with Zürs (higher, even more exclusive) and Stuben (quieter, cheaper) sharing the Arlberg ski area. The choice is village convenience versus a ski-in perch at Oberlech.

Best areas to stay in Lech

Where to base yourself, and who each area suits best.

Lech village

The walkable centre along the river with grand wellness hotels, boutiques, and the main lifts; polished and quietly exclusive.

Best for: Skiers and couples wanting the village, the dining, and lift access on foot.

Oberlech (above the village)

A tiny, largely car-free cluster of hotels on the slope above Lech, ski-in/ski-out with big views, reached by gondola, luggage moved through a service tunnel.

Best for: Skiers wanting true ski-in/ski-out and quiet at altitude.

Zürs & Stuben

Zürs higher and more exclusive, Stuben quieter and better value, both on the same Ski Arlberg lift network.

Best for: Travelers wanting the Arlberg snow at either a higher-end or a calmer, cheaper register.

Budget

Genuine budget is rare on Lech's side of the Arlberg; the value play is Stuben or down toward St. Anton, both on the same ski area.

Mid-range

Comfortable four-star chalet hotels with wellness sit a notch below the famous five-stars; still polished, still pricey.

Luxury

Lech is five-star country: discreet grand wellness hotels with spas and serious kitchens, at full Arlberg prices.

Booking tips for Lech

  • Oberlech delivers true ski-in/ski-out with luggage moved through a service tunnel; ask how your hotel handles arrival.
  • Lech is snow-sure and exclusive, so winter books out a year ahead at the top end; reserve very early.
  • Summer is gentle, quiet, and far cheaper, with the Green Ring hiking circuit on the doorstep.
