Your bases

Day by day

  1. Day1

    Arrive & acclimatize

    Innsbruck

Settle in Innsbruck and take the Nordkette up for a gentle ridge walk — big views, low effort, perfect for shaking off the journey.

  2. Day2

    A first real trail

    Innsbruck

A half-day hike from the top stations above the city, then old-town recovery: strudel, a museum, and an early night before the Zillertal.

  3. Day3

    Into the Zillertal

    Mayrhofen

Short train down the valley to Mayrhofen. Afternoon lift up to scout the trail network and stretch your legs on an easy loop.

  4. Day4

    The big day

    Mayrhofen

The Zillertal's signature high route — up to a panoramic hut like the Olperer, reservoirs and glaciers laid out below. Austria's best day on foot.

  5. Day5

    Glacier finale

    Mayrhofen

The Hintertux glacier for snow in summer and a last hit of altitude, then the train back toward Innsbruck and home.
